  • Won two league championships and the Memorial Cup (1982) with Kitchener Rangers (OHL)
  • Drafted by NHL’s Quebec Nordiques in 6th round of the 1981 entry draft
  • Won a bronze medal with Team Canada at World Junior Hockey Championship in 1983
  • Played with Fredericton Express (AHL) 1983-85 and was team’s rookie of the year in 1984
  • Promoted to the Nordiques in 1985 and spent three seasons as a defensive specialist
  • Spent 1990-94 with Winnipeg Jets and 1994-2000 with Washington Capitals
  • Played in the Stanley Cup final with Washington in 1998
  • Played 853 NHL regular season games, scoring 74 goals, 122 assists and 196 points
  • Retired following 1999-2000 season; named head coach of St. Thomas Tommies of the AUS
  • Named Atlantic University Sport and Canadian Interuniversity Sport coach of the year in 2003
