  • Played in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1936-42 and later with the Montreal Canadiens for the 1942-43 season
  • Won the Stanley Cup with Toronto in 1942
  • Was the NHL’s leading scorer in the 1937-38 season
  • Three-time NHL all-star (1938, ’39 and ’42)
  • Won the NHL’s Art Ross and Lady Byng trophies in 1938
  • Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1975 and Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1989
